The abstractlogic categories allows the creation of various categories which can be used as an admin tool to group submissions, reviewers and faculties. These categories can then be used as filters on the respective views:
- View Abstracts
- View Reviewers
- View Faculties
IMPORTANT - Abstract Category is not to be confused with Abstract Topic / Track / Category / Strand area which best fits their abstract submission. For that please see this article called "Abstract Topics"
Here are some reasons why abstract categories are commonly used:
- Categorise Reviewers: Create a different groups of reviewers (e.g. Accepted - Reviewer, Declined - Reviewer, Invited - Reviewer)
- Categorise Faculties (Speakers & Chairs): Create a different groups of faculties (e.g. Accepted - Speaker, Declined - Speaker, Invited - Speaker, Accepted - Chair, Declined - Chair, Invited - Chair)
- Additional questions on the form with the filter on Home Screen/View Abstracts: It could be an important question to the submission process that can be placed on Page 1 or Page 2, e.g. Junior Bursary, Overseas Bursary or 'I do not wish to apply for a Bursary'.
- Categorise Reviewers into Lead and Associate Reviewers: Using this will option to link lead reviewers to associate reviewers so that the lead reviewer is able to see the score abstracts of the associate reviewers. New menu item '4.10 Reviewer Per Category' to link Reviewers based on a category, in here you select a Category then from the drop down select a Reviewer that belongs to the selected category and then the list will get populated with all reviewers that are not part of the same category. You can select as many as needed.
